Introduction

The Alzheimer’s Association, the world leader in Alzheimer research and support, is a voluntary health organization dedicated to finding prevention, treatments and, eventually, a cure for Alzheimer dementia. Our mission is to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research and to enhance care and support for individuals, their families and caregivers.

We provide reliable information and care consultation; create supportive services for families; increase funding for dementia research; and influence public policy changes. The Alzheimer's Association's nationwide network of chapters offers a broad range of programs and services for people with the disease, families, care partners and professional care providers.

Our vision is a world without Alzheimer's disease.

Our work is about people and science.

The Alzheimer's Association, Maine Chapter serves the entire State of Maine from its Portland office. There are approximately 30,000 families in Maine who are affected by Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia.
